Mom Hack: Encourage Imagination With Easy Dress-Up Rack

Family living in Los Angeles can be fun, but it can also be a challenge when it comes to living space. As I stare at my kids’ tiny closet, I realize a lot of their dress-up clothes are crammed in the back and sadly forgotten. Come to think of it, I rarely see the kids running around our home pretending to be dragons, firemen, and fairies. Instead, they come home from school and immediately ask for tv time.

So I did what most moms do and went straight to Amazon looking for a solution. I knew I wanted to encourage the kids to play dress-up again, but wasn’t sure how to go about it. So I did a search for clothing racks and was immediately presented with plenty of options. After scrolling through for a bit, one rack in particular by Asunflower stood out to me. Its freestanding design was both portable AND adjustable (both with width and height), which was perfect for me because then I could place it anywhere in our home.

Within 48 hours it was delivered and boy was I excited! Although their product photos show it being used for working professionals, I knew it had more potential than that! I was already thinking of spray painting the poles pink and gold or maybe even using Washi tape to give it a whimsical rainbow look :). Set up was incredibly easy and took me less than 10 minutes. This is good because their instruction manual isn’t too clear with the steps. However, I managed to get it out of the box and out to the wall with no trouble. To make it kid-friendly, I simply took some stuffed animals and placed it around the bare areas for a fun look. All you need to do is make the stuffed animal “hug” the pole and then tie the hands together with a rubber band!

When all was done, the kids immediately started to play dress-up like they once did before. Less fighting about what shows to watch and more interacting with each other as they played princess and dragons. I tell ya, with so many mom fails I go through each week, it’s nice to have a nice solid mom win!

Hope you guys like the video I put together of me and kids assembling the clothes rack! For those interested, you can purchase clothing racks anywhere online or in stores. For those wanting the same model as mine, you can click here to purchase from Asunflower.

Cheers to less screen time everyone!
