With only a few days left with Baba, we decided to take the kids out on an adventure and have them experience snow for the first time! One of the perks of living in Los Angeles is having access to snow without actually having to live in it :). We drove out for 1.5 hours towards Big Bear Lake and entered a snowdrift snow tubing park. It was a lot of fun and definitely a great family activity that won’t break the bank (or your back!)
I wasn’t planning on putting a video together from this trip, but I’m so glad that I did. The way that I look at it, you can take photos and let it sit somewhere on your computer semi-forgotten OR you can create something fun with it and relive the moments as if it was yesterday. With each video I edit, I get more excited to share it with the kids because I know they always get a kick out of them. Makes those late night editing sessions totally worth it!
In other news, I’ve started to experience a spectrum of emotions as winter break was coming to an end. I initially felt happiness because Baba was around and our family felt whole again (it’s been a rough 6 months). Next came sadness because I knew he had to go back to school. Then I felt anxious because I would start my own job search, which then overwhelmed me with guilt because that meant my time fully dedicated with the kids was coming to an end. Then there’s the whole day care situation and adjustment concerns every parent dreads. Sigh. When did life get so complicated again?
I must admit I’m a bit relieved to have this blog as an outlet as I experience my ups and downs for the upcoming months. It’s slowly helping me be more open and comfortable about sharing my emotions, which is foreign territory for me. Special thanks to anyone out there who actually takes time to read my posts. I truly appreciate the comments you leave behind, whether it be words of support, advice, or simply sharing your story and letting me know I’m not alone in this.
