Today is the big day to vote! I attempted to explain to the kids why we’re voting and what it means to be President. Of course a million questions started coming at me and I finally just said, “The President is the boss of the United States of America. Let’s go vote and get stickers!” So off we went walking through the streets of downtown Los Angeles (see video).
For someone who encourages curiosity and thinking out loud, I sometimes struggle after the 45 minute mark when answering kid questions non-stop. Sure it’s cute in the beginning, but eventually I hit a wall where it’s too complex to explain to a toddler or I don’t want them exposed to how corrupt the world can be. Also, the endurance, patience, and creative language necessary when explaining to toddlers is a superpower in itself!
Maybe my new thing will be, “Go ask Baba when he gets home” haha.
Here’s the clean version for the kids to hear 🙂

Wow, 45 minutes seems like such a long time!!! This is going to be so tough for me, I’m not crafty at all. Can you start posting the questions and your answers so I have a cheat sheet for later?? 😉
